Daily Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Baltra Island, Santa Cruz Island

   Baltra Island is a pivotal port in the Galápagos, historically rooted and now a gateway to adventure. Must-do experiences include sampling fresh ceviche de mero and exploring the nearby Isabela Island and Las Tintoreras Islet. The best season to visit is during the warmer months from December to May.

2. Day 2

   El Barranco, Genovesa Island

   El Barranco (Prince Philip's Steps) on Genovesa Island offers one of the Galápagos' most immersive seabird experiences, with red-footed boobies nesting at eye level and short-eared owls hunting storm petrels across lava fields. Must-dos include ascending the volcanic cliff stairs and walking among thousands of nesting boobies and frigatebirds. June through November brings peak breeding activity, though different species nest year-round.

3. Day 3

   Santiago Island

   Santiago Island is a volcanic jewel in the central Galápagos archipelago, renowned for its pristine lava formations at Sullivan Bay and the wildlife-rich coastline of Puerto Egas, where fur seals and marine iguanas inhabit basalt grottos. A Zodiac landing to explore the tide pools and walk the pahoehoe lava fields ranks among the most memorable experiences in the islands. The Galápagos enjoy relatively stable conditions year-round, though the warm season from January to June brings calmer seas, warmer water for snorkelling, and the most vibrant wildlife activity ashore.

4. Day 4

   Mahon, Menorca, Spain

   Mahon is the capital of Menorca, second largest of the Balearic Islands. It stands out from the others because of the abundance of prehistoric structures, and because its culture was influenced by British occupation in the 18th century. The people who built the prehistoric constructions are believed to have been responsible for similar works in Sardinia, and for Stonehenge in England. Believed to have been founded by the Carthaginian General Mago, Mahon was held by the Moors from the 8th to the 13th century and in turn occupied by the English, the French and the Spanish. Mahon was finally ceded to Spain by the Treaty of Amiens in 1802.

5. Day 5

   Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos Islands

   Santa Cruz Island is the hub of the Galápagos Archipelago, home to the Darwin Research Station's giant tortoise breeding programs and wild tortoise populations grazing in misty highland meadows alongside pristine Tortuga Bay. Must-do experiences include encountering wild giant tortoises in the highlands, snorkeling with sea turtles at Tortuga Bay, and visiting the Charles Darwin Research Station. Year-round pleasant conditions, with January-May best for nesting wildlife and June-December offering the clearest snorkeling.

6. Day 6

   Punta Suarez, Espanola, Ecuador

   Punta Suárez on Española Island is the sole breeding ground of the waved albatross and one of the Galápagos' most wildlife-rich landing sites, with blue-footed boobies, colourful marine iguanas, and a spectacular coastal blowhole. Must-dos include watching the albatross courtship dances, snorkelling with sea lions at Gardner Bay, and hiking to El Soplador blowhole. April through December is the prime season for albatross viewing, with peak courtship displays in April and May.

7. Day 7

   Santa Fe Island, Galapagos

   Santa Fe Island is one of the oldest geological formations in the Galápagos archipelago, renowned for its endemic land iguanas, towering giant prickly pear cacti, and a sheltered bay teeming with sea lions. A wet landing and nature trail through the cactus forest ranks among the most memorable wildlife encounters in the islands, best experienced during the warm season from December to May when seas are calmer and snorkelling visibility peaks. 8. Day 8

   Puerto Ayora, Galapagos

   Puerto Ayora is the main town and visitor hub of the Galápagos on Santa Cruz Island, where the Charles Darwin Research Station anchors conservation efforts and giant tortoises roam freely in the misty highlands. Must-dos include walking among wild tortoises, the harbor fish market with its sea lion audience, and pristine Tortuga Bay beach. Both seasons offer exceptional wildlife; warm season (Jan–May) is best for snorkeling, cool season (Jun–Dec) for marine mammals.

9. Day 9

   Punta Cormorant

   Punta Cormorant is a volcanic headland on Floreana Island in the Galápagos, celebrated for its olivine-crystal beach, a brackish lagoon where greater flamingos feed in pink-tinged shallows, and Flour Beach, where Pacific green sea turtles nest. Visitors should not miss the flamingo lagoon walk at dawn and the short trail to the turtle-nesting beach. The warm-wet season from January to May brings the richest wildlife activity — flamingo numbers peak, turtle hatchlings emerge, and the islands are at their greenest — though the dry season from June to November offers calmer seas and exceptional snorkelling visibility.

10. Day 10

    Punta Moreno, Isabela Island

    Punta Moreno is a remote volcanic landing site on the western coast of Isabela Island in the Galápagos, where stark pahoehoe lava fields meet brackish lagoons teeming with flamingos, pintail ducks, and marine iguanas. The essential experience is walking across the otherworldly basalt terrain with an expert naturalist, observing pioneer species that have colonised the fissures of relatively recent lava flows. Accessible year-round, the warm-dry season from June to November offers the best conditions for wildlife activity and calmer seas for Zodiac landings.
